PIRITH CHANTING CEREMONY HELD AT THE SCHOOL OF ORDNANCE TO INVOKE BLESSINGS FOR THE NATION AND THE SLAOC

With the guidance of the Quarter Master General and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Major General W M S N Wijekoon ndc AATO, together with Mrs. Shirani Nirmalin Wijekoon, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, and under the supervision of the Commandant, School of Ordnance, Colonel CT Siriwardana Lsc AATO, the School of Ordnance, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, conducted the customary all-night Pirith Pinkama on 19 December 2025.

The religious observances continued on 20 December 2025 with the offering of Heel Daana and Sanghika Daana to 15 Buddhist monks, marking the conclusion of the religious ceremonies.

The programme was conducted to invoke blessings upon the people of Sri Lanka affected by the recent disaster, to pay solemn tribute to the Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation, and to seek continued blessings for the serving Officers, Other Ranks, and civilian staff. The ceremonies also sought blessings for the continued unity, strength, and prosperity of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps and the School of Ordnance.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and civilian staff participated in the religious event.
