Under the Army Seva Vanitha welfare programme of providing fully constructed houses to deserving soldiers, a newly built house was ceremonially handed over to S/604660 Sgt Dharmapriya W.B. on 6 April 2026.
This noble initiative was initiated under the guidance of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General BKGML Rodrigo RSP ctf ndu psc IG, with the invaluable support of the President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo.
The financial sponsorship for the construction of the house was provided by the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit, while the manpower, supervision and overall direction of the project were undertaken by the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Maj Gen WMSN Wijekoon ndc AATO in coordination with the President of Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Nirmalin Wijekoon.
During the event, RHQ SLAOC with the support of the other establishments further extended its generosity by donating essential household items to the beneficiary, ensuring a comfortable living standard for the soldier and his family.
The programme concluded on a cordial note with a tea reception, fostering goodwill among all present.
