Under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps,Major MGEM Abeykoon psc Lsc AATO, a welfare initiative was launched in celebrating the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year on 10 April 2026.The formal ceremony was held to distribute dry ration packs and clothing items to the civilian staff of the unit.
Each pack, valued at approximately Rs. 10,000/-, served as a token of appreciation for their dedication and vital contributions to the unit's operations. During the event, the Commanding Officer praised their steadfast commitment and highlighted their essential role in the daily success of the unit.
The Commanding Officer extended his warmest wishes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year to the staff and their families. With the support of the officers and other ranks, the program concluded successfully, reinforcing the Army’s tradition of fostering welfare and camaraderie between military personnel and civilian employees.
