COMMITTEE MEETING OF SLAOC SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

The Committee meeting of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAOC – SVB) was held on 15th August 2025 at the conference hall of the Army Ordnance Industries (AOI) - Veyangoda. The event was graced by the presence of the Senior Members of SLAOC – SVU and held under the patronage of Maj Gen W M S N Wijekoon ndc AATO Quarter Master General and Colonel Commandant of SLAOC.

Mrs. Nirmalin Wijekoon, the president of SLAOC – SVB presided over the meeting which commenced with the singing of the ASVU song, following by the two-minute silence in honour of the fallen war heroes. Thereafter Captain K K V Silva, the Coordinating Officer of SLAOC –SVB extended a warm welcomed all senior members, including the president of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Seva Vanitha Branch.

Afterward, following committee members were appointed to the posts of the new Executive board of SLAOC –SVU by its members:

The Vice president - Mrs. Asuntha Nilmini Kariyawasam

The Secretary - Mrs. Nilusha Imali Perera

The Vice secretary - Mrs. Priyadarshani Amarasinghe

The Treasurer - Mrs. Chamila Dhamayanthi Dissanayake

The Vice Treasurer - Mrs. Geethangali Samanthika Gunarathne

Public Relation Officer - Mrs. Deepani Warnasuriya

The Vice Relation Officer - Mrs. Niroshani Silva

Project Officer - Mrs. Chamalka Pallekubura

Addressing the gathering the Chairperson of SLAOC – SVB out lightened the future for enhancing future projects while also proposing several initiatives be undertaken by Branch. She further welcomed innovative suggestions and ideas from the senior members present. In her the concluding remarks, the president SLAOC – SVB underscored the necessity of eliminating unnecessary expenditures and drench that available funds be allocated exclusively for the welfare of Army personnel.

Following the conclusion of the committee meeting, The president of SLAOC –SVB toghter with the all senior members participated in a donation programme was organized by the Army Ordnance Industries(AOI) and Army Clothing Deport(ACD) Veyangoda.On this occasion, fifteen civilians employees were presented with dry ration packages by the Seva Vanitha members. In addition in keeping with the instruction of the President of Seva Vanitha Branch, a scholarship was symbolically awarded to the daughter of the late S/600900 Corporal Fernando MUWK (Retd) by the president of SLAOC- SVB.
