Colonel J I B W Pallekumbura ato officially assumed duties as the 26th Commandant of the Base Ordnance Depot during a formal ceremony, marking the beginning of his tenure. The event adhered to military traditions, commencing with a Guard Turnout in his honor.
A sapling was planted to symbolize the commencement of his leadership, followed by a group photograph with the staff. After the dignified ceremony included a solemn religious observance. As part of the proceedings, the Commandant formally accepted his responsibilities by signing an official document in the presence of the staff.
Finally in his address, he emphasized the significance of teamwork, strict adherence to Army regulations, and a shared commitment to excellence within the establishment. He extended his warm wishes to all Officers and Other Ranks, highlighting the importance of collective effort and dedication.
