COLONEL G A I S NANAYAKKARA AATO ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE COMMANDANT Of SCHOOL OF ORDNANCE

Colonel G A I S Nanayakkara, AATO, officially assumed duties as the Commandant of the School of Ordnance during a formal ceremony conducted in accordance with military traditions. The proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout in his honour, followed by the planting of a sapling to symbolise the beginning of his tenure, a group photograph with the staff, and a solemn religious observance. He thereafter formally accepted his responsibilities by signing the official document in the presence of the staff.The new commandant paid tribute to the fallen heroes of SLAOC by placing a Floral wreath at the Monument, paying tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by the brave sons of the Regiment.

In his address, the Commandant emphasised the importance of teamwork, strict adherence to Army regulations, and a shared commitment to excellence within the establishment. He extended his warm wishes to all Officers and Other Ranks, highlighting the value of unity, dedication, and collective effort in fulfilling the mission and objectives of the School of Ordnance.
