CELEBRATIONS OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS - A TRIBUTE TO 75TH YEARS OF SERVICE

On 14th October 2024, the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps proudly celebrated its, marking 75th years of excellence and dedicated service to the nation. The milestone event was graced by Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, the Logistics Commander and Colonel Commandant of the SLAOC, who was welcomed with honors by Centre Commandant Colonel AGCR Amarasinghe USP ato.

The day’s proceedings began with a traditional Guard Turnout, exemplifying the discipline and pride of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps. Although the scheduled parade was briefly postponed due to heavy rain, the Corps continued the celebrations undeterred. A special stamp was unveiled to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee, symbolizing the Corps' rich history and contributions. Once the rain subsided, the parade resumed, highlighting the resilience and unity of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.

After the parade, a group photograph was taken, immortalizing the occasion alongside senior officers, officers. The celebrations continued with an all ranks tea party to foster camaraderie, followed by a special all ranks lunch at the School of Ordnance conference hall. During the lunch, the Colonel Commandant presented a commemorative coin as a plaque to both officers and other ranks, marking their participation in this momentous event and acknowledging their contributions to the Corps.

The celebrations honored the deep traditions, achievements, and legacy of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, reaffirming its commitment to the defense and service of the nation for the past 75th years.
