The Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Seva Vanitha Branch for the year 2026 was held on 24 January 2026 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Dombagoda, under the patronage of the Honourable President, Mrs Nirmalin Wijekoon. The event was attended by members of the executive committee and the spouses of Officers and Other Ranks.
The Honourable President was warmly received by the Secretary and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch. Proceedings commenced with the lighting of the oil lamp, followed by the Seva Vanitha Song, after which two-minute silence was observed in remembrance of fallen war heroes.
Subsequently, members were briefed on the ongoing projects of the SVB SLAOC, and the financial expenditure for the year 2025 was presented. The appointment of the executive committee then took place, and the Honourable President addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort while welcoming constructive suggestions to further strengthen the welfare initiatives of the SVB SLAOC.
A major highlight of the AGM was the launch of the “Rickshaw Hair Oil” product, conducted in line with the vision of the Honourable President, with the participation of the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Major General WMSN Wijekoon ndc AATO and several senior officers. The first official sale of the product was ceremonially purchased by Mrs Nadeesha Uyangodage, who also generously contributed as the donor for the welfare initiative.
In conclusion, kitchen supplies were donated to two soldiers affected by the "Ditwa" Cyclone, with the donation being made by Mrs. Nadeesha Uyangodage, thereby reaffirming the steadfast commitment of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch to the welfare and well-being of its members.
