The Annual General Meeting of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch in 2025 transpired on the 25th of January, held under the esteemed patronage of the Commander of the Logistics Command and the Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Major General EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, within the distinguished confines of the conference hall at the School of Ordnance, Dombagoda.
The AGM was presided over by the Honorable President of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Iresha Fernando, and was attended by members of the Executive Committee and other distinguished invitees, including spouses of Other Ranks.
Upon arrival, the Honorable President was warmly received by Secretary and members of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch. The proceedings commenced with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp by the Honorable President and other senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, followed by the recital of the Seva Vanitha Anthem. Thereafter, a two-minute silence was observed to honor the memory of fallen war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice in defense of the motherland.
During the proceedings, the Honorable President, Mrs. Iresha Fernando, emphasized the significance of fostering unity and cultivating a positive attitude among members to achieve the noble objectives of the Seva Vanitha Branch.
As a significant initiative in line with the benevolent vision of the Honorable President, financial assistance amounting to Rs. 50,000.00 was extended to support the medical expenses of a family of an Other Rank, reflecting the unwavering commitment of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch towards the welfare of its members.
The day's proceedings concluded with an inspiring motivational lecture delivered by Lieutenant Colonel EAAS Chamindha, providing valuable insights to the attendees.
