ADMINISTRATIVE INSPECTION BY THE QUARTER MASTER GENERAL OF SRI LANKA ARMY AND THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS AT THE 5TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS

The Quarter Master General of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Major General WMSN Wijekoon ndc AATO conducted an administrative inspection at the 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (5 SLAOC) on 6th February 2026.

Upon arrival, the Colonel Commandant was warmly received by the Commanding Officer and accorded a Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions. As per the itinerary, planting of a sapling to remark the arrival of Colonel Commandant and a group photograph was taken place with all Officers and SNCOs of 5 SLAOC.

Subsequently, the day’s programme commenced with a comprehensive briefing delivered by the Commanding Officer, covering the administrative, technical, and logistics aspects of the regiment. The Colonel Commandant expressed his appreciation for the commendable efforts undertaken by the Commanding Officer and all ranks in carrying out renovations and implementing new workshop projects.

During the visit, the Colonel Commandant inspected the Administrative Office, Officers’ Mess, Main Kitchen, ORs’ Accommodation, Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, Q Stores, and the Lady ORs’ Accommodation.

In conjunction with the inspection, the newly constructed canteen was officially opened by the Colonel Commandant, marking a significant milestone in enhancing welfare facilities for all ranks of 5 th Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.

Concluding the visit, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of maintaining military discipline and professional standards, while highlighting the vital role of SNCOs in guiding, mentoring, and commanding their juniors.

Prior to his departure, the Colonel Commandant recorded complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book, expressing his satisfaction with the progress.
