At present the Corps, together with the Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch has launched several projects to ensure the well being of the differently abled soldiers and families of war heroes who had sacrificed their lives and had gone missing during the conflict. Offering scholarships for the beneficiaries of dead, differently abled and serving soldiers, providing financial support to uplift their living standard by donating houses, bathroom fittings and provide medical assistance such as donating wheel chairs, artificial limbs and walking aids are some of the main activities conducts by the Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch.

Maj S K Warahena USP SLE assumed duties as the 34th Commanding Officer of 4 (V) Engineer Regiment SLE on 07 July 2020 with the blessings of Triple Gems. Welcoming ceremony included a Guard Turnout and a formal Troop address.

The country is in an impasse due to unexpected epidemic COVID 19 and 12 Field Engineer Regiment contributes to this COVID-19 pandemic as front-line responders by involving in disinfection, decontaminating the suspected areas, persons, vehicles and etc.The troops who are engaging with the disinfection and decontamination task have a major issue with a lack of separate sanitary facilities.

Under the green concept, Sri Lanka Corps of Engineers has completed series of successful field and plant engineering projects at Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Forces Headquarters premises at Salawa, Kosgama. All the projects have been constructed under the overall command and continuous guidance of Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc, 42nd Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. All the construction projects closely supervised by the Commanding Officer 12 Field Engineer Regiment Major G J P DE Silva SLE, with the immense and highly dedicated contribution of the Officer Commanding 124 Plant Squadron Captain G A M R D B Udurawana USP SLE and troops belongs to Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

The visit 10 Field Engineer Regiments on 02nd June and The Commander Engineer Brigade was ceremonially welcomed at 10 Field Engineer Regiment. Thereafter, briefing was conducted on current operational commitments, sterilization tasks, Field Engineer Tasks, Plant Engineer Tasks.

9 Field Engineer Regiment did a vital role to control the spreading of COVID 19 disease in country by supporting to conduct 02quarantine centers under SFHQ (KLN) and SFHQ (MLT).These 02 quarantine centers were located at Battalion Training Schools in 65 Div, Mulankaviland 59 Div, Mullaitivu to undergo the quarantine for civilians those who were identified/ suspected as covid 19 patients in Keselwatta and Bandaranayaka mawatha, Colombo.

After a few months of silence due to the deadly COVID 19 Pandemic over the country, Seva Vanitha Branch - Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB-SLE) organized a donation programme with few participants. A wheel chair donated to the father of Regimental Sargent Major, Warrant Officer I, DMUG Ranasinghe Banda who is severely ill. Amount of Rs 50, 000.00 medical aid donated to Lithula Laknada, the Son of Lance Corporal Haris Jayakantha ERSHP (Deceased) who is suffering from a cancer.
