Brigadier R M Subasinghe RSP, Commander Plant Engineer Brigade, paid an official visit to the 7 Field Engineer Regiment of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 26 February 2026. On arrival, the senior officer was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel M A P Abeywickrama psc SLE, the Commanding Officer of the 7 Filed Engineer Regiment and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. In keeping with military traditions, the Commander also took part in a tree planting ceremony in front of the Headquarters Building, symbolizing growth, unity and sustainability.

The 4 (Volunteer) Engineer Regiment SLE celebrated its 115th Anniversary on 23 February 2026 at the camp premises in Borupana, Rathmalana, with a series of meaningful and well-coordinated events. Conducted on 07, 19, 21, and 23 February 2026, the program reflected the Regiment’s proud heritage, strong traditions, and unwavering unity. The celebrations were organized under the guidance and leadership of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel L V R C N Bandara RSP psc SLE.

In a ceremony rich with military tradition and spiritual blessing, Major R M L A Rathnayake USP psc SLE officially assumed duties as the 34th Officiating Commanding Officer of the 1 Field Engineer Regiment. The formal proceedings began at the main entrance of the Regimental Headquarters, where the Second in Command warmly welcomed the incoming Commanding Officer. Following established Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers customs, he was honored with a Guard Turnout and an honorable Ceremonial Parade by the troops of 1 Field Engineer Regiment.
