    The Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) had the honour of hosting Colonel Amanda Johnston, Defence Advisor to the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka, along with Assistant Defence Advisor Major Chris Fowler, during an official visit that marked a significant milestone in bilateral defence relations.

    Brigadier C D Wickramanayake WV RSP ndc assumes duties as the 22nd Chief Field Engineer on 15 August 2025 at the Army Headquarters. He auspiciously took over duties amidst religious observances and placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office.

  • 18TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF 10 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

    The 18th Anniversary celebrations of 10 Field Engineer Regiment were held at Myliddy on 03 August 2025. Showcasing glamour and pride in a grand scale. The anniversary day celebrations were commenced with Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour for the Commanding Officer of 10 Field Engineer Regiment Maj RRLD Rathnayake USP psc SLE graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Commanding Officer was received by the Second in Command Maj GBMP Galahitiya psc SLE. Group Photograph, Planting of Sapling and All Rank lunch were lined up in the rest of the programme.

  • SAPPER SHINES AT WORLD SEPAK TAKRAW CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

    The World Sepak Takraw Championship 2025, held in conjunction with the 38th Thai King's Cup, took place from 20 to 28 July in Thailand, attracting participation from 18 nations across the globe. This prestigious international event showcased some of the finest talents in the sport of Sepak Takraw, a game that demands exceptional agility and skill.

  • OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES OF SAPPER WRESTLERS AT 49TH NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL

    The Wrestling Championship of the 49th National Sports Festival 2025 took place 25th to 27th July 2025 at the Indoor Stadium of Kelaniya University, where 05 Sapper Wrestlers representing the Army team displayed remarkable skill and determination. Their hard work paid off as they secured a total of 05 medals, including 02 gold, 02 silver, and 01 bronze.

  • 14 CBRNE REGIMENT CONDUCTS BOMB AND CBRN THREAT AWARENESS WORKSHOP FOR SECURITY STAFF OF THE RESIDENCES AT ONE GALLE FACE

    To enhance the national security landscape and make public awareness on bomb and CBRN threats the workshop was conducted by 14 CBRNE response regiment on 29 July 2025. This important initiative was organized in response to a directive by the Ministry of Defence, under the leadership of the Commander of the Army, and the supervision of the Chief Field Engineer and the Engineer Division Headquarters. The workshop was specifically tailored for the residential security staff, recognizing their critical role as a security person.

  • TACTICAL COMBAT CASUALTY CARE COURSE SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED AT SLSME, FOLLOWED BY EOD LEVEL 01 EQUIPMENT DONATION BY THE UNITED STATES.

    In a notable gesture of bilateral defense cooperation, the United States Embassy in Sri Lanka officially donated a consignment of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training equipment to the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) on 30th June 2025. The handover ceremony, held at the SLSME premises in Embilipitiya, marks a significant milestone in the growing defense and technical collaboration between the United States and Sri Lanka, emphasizing a shared commitment to strengthening regional security.
