The Chief Field Engineer, Major General P P A Perera Hdmc psc made his maiden official visit to the Engineer Division on 02 July 2024. The Chief Field Engineer was warmly welcomed by Colonel B A M P Balasooriya RSP, Colonel (Admin and Quartering) of the Engineer Division by extending a gracious welcome on behalf of all ranks of the Division and under command Regiments of the Mattegoda camp.

Colonel T D P Siriwardene psc assumed duties as the 34th Commandant of the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering on Friday, 28th of June 2024, in accordance with military traditions and customs. The "Eastern Poson Festival" in Ampara was jointly organized by the Presidential Secretariat, Eastern Provincial Council, Ampara District Secretariat and other Governmental bodies. Spanning from 21st to 26th June 2024, this event showcased an array of exhibits contributed by security forces and various government and non-government entities throughout Ampara city.
