The Chief Field Engineer, Major General P P A Perera Hdmc psc made his maiden official visit to the Engineer Division on 02 July 2024. The Chief Field Engineer was warmly welcomed by Colonel B A M P Balasooriya RSP, Colonel (Admin and Quartering) of the Engineer Division by extending a gracious welcome on behalf of all ranks of the Division and under command Regiments of the Mattegoda camp.

Colonel T D P Siriwardene psc assumed duties as the 34th Commandant of the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering on Friday, 28th of June 2024, in accordance with military traditions and customs. Upon arrival, Colonel T D P Siriwardene psc was accorded with a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by the Chief Instructor, Major L L C S Cabraal psc SLE at the Headquarter of SLSME.

The "Eastern Poson Festival" in Ampara was jointly organized by the Presidential Secretariat, Eastern Provincial Council, Ampara District Secretariat and other Governmental bodies. Spanning from 21st to 26th June 2024, this event showcased an array of exhibits contributed by security forces and various government and non-government entities throughout Ampara city.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Mrs. Anupama Fernando, spouse of the Commanding Officer - 4 (V) SLE, a donation program was conducted to support Corporal Jayasinghe SHS and his family, who face physical challenges due to non-battle reasons. During this initiative, a wheelchair was provided to Corporal Jayasinghe SHS, and his daughter, who excelled in the GCE Advanced Level Examination with three A's in the Arts stream, was presented with a laptop computer to aid her in pursuing higher education.

In response to a request from the Safety and Security Department of Hilton Colombo Residences and under the directive of the Ministry of Defence, the 14 CBRNE Response Regiment Training Team conducted an awareness session. This initiative was overseen by the Commander of the Army, with close supervision from the Chief Field Engineer and guidance from the Commander Engineer Division.
