In today's dynamic and challenging environment, it is crucial for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) operators to continuously update their knowledge and skills. This need has become increasingly evident in the wake of recent incidents in chemical factories, which demanded swift and safe responses from CBRN operators of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. Recognizing this urgent requirement, under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding - Engineer Division and the Commanding Officer of 14 CBRNE Response Regiment, organized a comprehensive two-day workshop aimed at enhancing the capabilities of CBRN operators within the Corps.

In significant step towards enhancing mine detection capabilities in Sri Lanka Army, a familiarization training programme for donated Handheld Detectors (VMR3 Mine Hounds) was successfully conducted by Mr Markus Sautter on 05 to 07 June 2024. The VMR3 Mine Hound detectors, a sophisticated tool combining Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Metal Detection Technologies, were donated through United States Grant Aid Assistance to enhance institutional capacity building for United Nations peacekeeping missions.
