In observing the traditions of the Poson Poya Festival, a “Maha Bath Dansala” was organized by the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering in Embilipitiya. The dansala was a success due to the generous assistance of the local community and the staff of SLSME. The dansala which was inaugurated at 1300 hr was able to provide meals for approximately 3,600 devotees. In addition to the dansala, SLSME exhibited a large rotating mechanical lantern in the Ranna Poson Poya zone in the Hambantota district.

Army Inter Regiment Wrestling Championship 2023 was held from 25 May 2023 to 28 May 2023 at the Indoor Stadium APTS Panagoda was organized by Army Wrestling Committee. Major General SA Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division and the Chairman of Army Wrestling Committee attended the finals and graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Having identified the much needed welfare necessity with the guidance and the supervision of the Commander 612 Infantry Brigade, Troops of 12 Field Engineer Regiment launched a house construction project for needy family in Welipenna. The father who committed suicide due to suicidal hanging in Welipenna area is being closely assisted by the troops of 12 Field Engineer Regiment providing dry ration packs twice a month, the family had no houses to live and they resided in a rented house.

Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Regimental Headquarter hosted a farewell parade on 03 May 2023 for one of its proud Senior Officers, Brigadier M Mayadunna RSP USP, who retiring after a dedicated service of more than three decades. The day’s ceremony commenced with the customary Guard Turnout and a formal farewell parade that followed at the RHQ parade ground.
