On 12 May 2025, Marking the sacred Vesak Poya Day, the 14 CBRNE Response Regiment organized a Dansala and Vesak Lantern Display in front of the Home of Sappers main gate Mattegoda. The Dansala and Vesak Lantern was organized through the dedicated efforts of all officers and other ranks of 14 CBRNE Response Regiment under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of the 14 CBRNE Response Regiment.
The Chief Field Engineer of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General T C Peiris RSP USP, ceremonially lighted the Vesak lantern and distributed Chickpeas to the Civilians, marking the commencement of the evening's proceedings.
Officers and Other ranks belongs to 5 Field Regiment and 16 Workshop Regiment participated in the event. Large number of civilians from Mattegoda and neighboring areas enthusiastically visited the location to witness the lantern display and enjoy the Dansala, contributing to a successful and meaningful Vesak observance.
