  • 4 (VOLUNTEER) ENGINEER REGIMENT SLE PROUDLY CELEBRATES ITS 114TH ANNIVERSARY

    On 23 February 2025, the 4 (Volunteer) Engineer Regiment SLE celebrated its 114th anniversary with a variety of exciting activities at the camp in Borupana, Rathmalana. The events were held from 21 to 23 February 2025, honored the unit's remarkable history and customs while symbolizing its pride, dedication, and unity. The entire programs were organized under the leadership and oversight of Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel H P U Dasanayake USP SLE.

  • 14 CBRNE RESPONSE REGIMENT SECURES SUSPECTED CHEMICAL LEAK AT UNIVERSITY OF MORATUWA

    In response to a request from the University of Moratuwa to the Ministry of Defence, with the technical support of the National Authority for the Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC), the 14 Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Response Regiment deployed a specialized response team on 02 March 2025 to address a suspected chemical leak at the university's chemical storage facility.

  • 14 CBRNE RESPONSE REGIMENT HOSTS INTER-UNIT BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

    The 14 CBRNE Response Regiment organized a Inter-Unit Badminton Tournament on the 27th and 28th of February 2025 at Home of Sappers Maththegoda, bringing together 34 players from various regiments of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The event saw thrilling matches across several categories, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and compete for the coveted titles.

  • INAUGURATION OF THE SMART AGRICULTURE PROJECT AT SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING

    The Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) officially inaugurated its ‘Smart Agriculture Project’ in a ceremony presided over by Colonel JACS Jagoda psc, the Commandant of SLSME on 22 February 2025. The project, covering an area of 75ft x 160ft, includes an automated irrigation system and an automated fertilizer distribution system, both strategically designed to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

  • INTER UNIT DRILL COMPETITION 2024 OF THE CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES

    Inter Unit Drill Competition 2024 of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was concluded on Tuesday, 25th September 2025 at the Regimental Centre SLE with its signature grandeur, reaffirming its status as one of the most prestigious and eagerly anticipated events on the Corps’ annual calendar. Renowned for its impeccable standards, precision, and competitive fervour, this esteemed competition serves as a stage for the finest soldiers to exhibit their discipline, and drill excellence.

  • THE 14 CBRNE RESPONSE REGIMENT HOSTS TRAINING DAY PROGRAMME

    The 14 CBRNE Response Regiment, under the guidance of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, recently organized a training day on 19 February 2025 focused on "Balancing Personal and Professional Life as a Military Member in the Current Social and Economic Situation." The session, led by Lieutenant Colonel UG Mallawarachchi RWP USP as the guest lecturer, addressed the challenges military personnel face, such as long duty hours, high-stress environments, and unpredictable schedules. Lieutenant Colonel Mallawarachchi highlighted the importance of mental health, emotional well-being, and skills like time management, while stressing the significance of strong family and social support systems, as well as a healthy lifestyle to manage stress and succeed both professionally and personally.
