The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) Regimental Headquarters at Panagoda on 23 December 2021 bids farewell to the 19th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army, Major General Nihal Amarasekara, who has added colours to the Regiment almost 35 years during a customary farewell ceremony.

The Commander General Engineering Brigade of Sri Lanka Corps of Engineers Brigadier PPA Perera psc Hdmc visited the project location of Kuragala Temple in order to inspect the site to construct a Heli-Pad in the temple premises on 24 November 2021 and 29 November 2021.

Closing ceremony of the Basic Humanitarian Demining Course - No 37 was ceremonially held on 26th of November 2021 at the auditorium of Field Engineering Brigade. The Commander Field Engineering Brigade, Brigadier DP Jayasinghe RSP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Colonel Project of Field Engineer Brigade, Second in Command 8 Field Engineer Regiment and other staff officers of the Field Engineer Brigade also participated for the event.

In line with the 70th anniversary of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, the President of Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB-SLE) together with Colonel Commandant of the Corps of SrLanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer Major General Nihal Amarasekara USP ndu declared re-opened the newly refurbished emergency treatment building of the Ranaviru Sewana - Ragama on 13 November 2021.

General Engineering Brigade of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Engineers has celebrated its first anniversary on 28 October 2021. The Brigade was raised on 28 October 2020 at Mattegoda and Subsequently, Brigade Headquarters relocated at Kachchigala, Embilipitiya on 19 November 2020. The main responsibility of the Brigade is to carry out constructions related to the nation building projects, identified the sustainable development of the nation and coordinating and performing of all assigned engineering tasks. At present General Engineering Brigade is consisting of four Regiments and a Plant Squadron, namely 1 Field Engineer Regiment, 5 Field Engineer Regiment, 15(V) Regiment Sri Lanka Engineers, 12 (V) Engineer Service Regiment and Plant Squadron of 12 Field Engineer Regiment.

The newly renovated house donated to Corporal (Deceased) Nandan’s family on 08 November 2021 at Kuruwita area. The house was constructed under the close supervision of Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, the president of Seva Vanitha Branch, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
