COMMANDER GENERAL ENGINEERING BRIGADE VISIT 12 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

The Commander General Engineering Brigade, Brigadier PPA Perera psc Hdmc on his arrival at 12 Field Engineer Regiment (RFT) on 09 June 2021 was warmly welcomed by All Officers and Other Ranks.Initially the visiting Brigade Commander was educated with the present role and task performed under both 612 Infantry Brigade and under General Engineering Brigade by the regiment. The formal presentation followed the site visit to brief the present progress of the non military projects under taken by the 12 Field Engineer Regiment under Gama Samaga Pilisandarak programme.

The Commander General Engineering Brigade commenced the dual role performed by the regiment and appreciated the sheer commitment and dedication of the troops. The Commander highlighted the importance of undertaking national development projects and instructed Officers and Senior Non Commissioned officers to discharge their responsibilities to gain desired end result. He further, stressed the importance to maintain close coordination with education authorities in Kalutara district whilst progressing the development projects adhering to the stipulated procedures.

The Lieutenant Colonel Pradeep Siriwardene psc SLE Colonel Project General Engineer Brigade and Maj Thilanka Wijayasiriwardhana SLE GSO 2 (Plant) were also presented during the visit. The brief visit programme was held strictly complying to the Covid 19 health guidelines with participation of minimum sapper troops.
