  • NEW CHAIRPERSON CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ASSUMES OFFICE

    Mrs Sagara Gunawardena assumed office as the new President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch during a charming ceremony held at the Headquarters Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 29 July 2019. On her arrival at the Corps Headquarters the new president was warmly welcomed by the senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch. Mrs Sagara Gunawardena assumed duties at Seva Vanitha Office amidst chanting of Seth Pirith by “Maha Sanga”. After assuming the office, all members greeted the new chairperson extending their warm wishes.

  • NEW CHIEF FIELD ENGINEER SRI LANKA ARMY ASSUMES OFFICE AT MATHTHEGODA

    Major General Thissa Nanayakkara during a simple ceremony, but affluent with military formalities assumed the office of the Chief Field Engineer (CFE) of Sri Lanka Army, Chief Field Engineer Headquarters at Mattegoda on 10 July 2019. He succeeded Major General Kumara Peiris who relinquished his office after performing a notable service as the CFE and is now appointed as the MGO Army Headquarters.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF ENGINEERS ORGANIZED A TREE PLANTING CEREMONY AT WILPATTU

    As per the directions of the Colonel Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a Tree Planting Ceremony at Wilpattu National Park. The event was held on 29 June 2019 headed by Mrs Ajantha Hettiarrachchi, the President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Engineers. A much needed donation, consisted of six thousand-liter plastic water tanks, hundred PVC pipes and over one ton compost fertilizer were donated to the Wilpattuwa Reforestation Project. The President and the members of the Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch, Major General Senarath Bandara General Officer Commanding 54 Division and Officers graced the occasion.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS EXTENDS SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF WAR HEROES BY DONATING NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSES

    A deceased soldier’s family and a soldier sustained injuries due to a landmine explosion at Muhamalai, Jaffna were given new houses and the keys were handed over after simple ceremonies held at those premises itself on 08 June 2019.

  • SLNG SOLDIERS TRANSFORMED TO ENGINEERS

    One hundred twenty soldiers belonged to Sri Lanka National Guard were transferred to Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers recently. These soldiers were transferred from their joining regiments to Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers under the right sizing scheme of Sri Lanka Army.

  • Sri Lanka Army Participates - SPILLEX 2019

    The National Oil Spill Contingency Plan (NOSCOP) prepared and manage by Marin Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) was rehearsed on 4 and 5 April 2019 by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC). This is a major annual event of MEPA’s calendar, designated as SPILLEX. SPILLEX is designed to rehearse the preparedness and response at national level oil spill disaster, on imminent threat in popular maritime hub/routes in the world.

  • COOKERY PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

    The Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch organized a cookery demonstration for the benefit of its members on the preparation of cooking healthy and delicious food. The programme was held at the Corps Headquarters, Panagoda on 06 April 2019 and Mrs Ajantha Hettiarrachchih the President Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch graced the occasion as the chief guest. The demonstration was conducted by Chef Chathurika Anuradha. At the end of the event a memento was gifted to Chef Chathurika Anuradha as a token of appreciation by the President of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch.

  • SPR DESHAPRIYA OF 12 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT SECURED THE 2ND PLACE AT ARMY INTER REGIMENT MOTOR CROSS-2019

    S/247160 Spr Deshapriya GPCS of 12 Field Engineer Regiment became the 2nd in the 125 CC Novices Category Motorbike event at the Army Inter Regiment Motor Cross 2019. The event was held on 3rd March 2019 at the Gajaba Super Cross Track, Saliyapura. Maj Gen D D U K Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers graced the occasion as the Chairman Army Motor Sport Committee. This is the first time in the Sappers history that a Sapper secured a position in the Inter Regiment Motor Cross.

  • THE 14 CHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL RADIOLOGY AND NUCLEAR RESPONSE REGIMENT CONDUCTS A LIVE DEMONSTRATION TO THE COLONEL COMMANDANT

    The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen DDUK Hettiarrachchi RSP VSV USP ndu psc paid an official visit to the 14 Chemical Biological Radiology and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Regiment on the request made by the Commanding Officer. A demonstration on the capabilities of CBRN first respondents was conducted during this visit. The CO 14 CBRN conducted the initial briefing at the 5 Fd SLE Officers’ mess which was followed by the demonstration at the Sappers Cricket Grounds on 28 February 2019.

  • THE CBRN UNIT OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS SHOWCASE'S IT'S CAPABILITIES TO WHO REPRESENTATIVES.

    The 14 Chemical Biological Radiology and Nuclear Regiment SLE (14 CBRN Regt SLE) on the request of World Health Organization, Sri Lanka (WHO Sri Lanka) conducted a demonstration on CBRN Response and Explosive Ordnance Disposal for the participants of international course on emergency response in natural, accidental and deliberate events and operational readiness on 15 February 2019 at army camp, Mattegoda.
