The Sri Lanka Army Small Arms Association has conducted Inter Regiment Practical Rifle Meet from 20 May 2022 to 26 May 2022, at the field firing range at Fox Hill Diyatalawa. This tournament drew 256 shooters from 36 teams in 22 regiments. There were three categories in the competition: Open, Novices, and Service Category. 12 shooters from the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers competed in this event, representing the categories of Open and Novices teams.

Search and Rescue (SAR) Teams of 12 Field Engineer Regiment are presently deployed at Pelawatta, Walallawita and Baduraliya areas effected by heavy rain. Troops assisted effected civilians in the area and facilitated their movements for safe sheltering.

11 Field Engineer Regiment celebrated its 14th Anniversary by organizing series of religious and ceremonial activities during 14, 15 and 16 May 2022 at the 11 Field Engineer Regiment, Nochchiyagama. The entire programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of the Commanding Officer of 11 Field Engineer Regiment Lt Col K K P Pussewela RSP SLE.

Brigadier T C Pieris RSP USP assumed duties as the third Brigade Commander of the General Engineering Brigade on 23 April 2022. Taking over duties were held with the blessings from clergy with the participation of the Colonel Project, Commanding Officer 1 FD SLE, 5 FD SLE and 12(V) ESR and all the Officers and Other Ranks of General Engineering Brigade.
