9 Field Engineer Regiment did a vital role to control the spreading of COVID 19 disease in country by supporting to conduct 02quarantine centers under SFHQ (KLN) and SFHQ (MLT).These 02 quarantine centers were located at Battalion Training Schools in 65 Div, Mulankaviland 59 Div, Mullaitivu to undergo the quarantine for civilians those who were identified/ suspected as covid 19 patients in Keselwatta and Bandaranayaka mawatha, Colombo.
After almost two month lockdown was imposed to stop the spread of the destructive corona virus (covid 19) with in the country, taking its first limping steps towards getting back to semblance of normalcy. In order to support that, the troops of 9 Field Engineer Regiment commenced the disinfection and decontamination of public places in Mullaitivu town such as Bank premises,Sathosa,Warehouses, private shops. Our troops werehighly appreciated by the civil authorities in Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu areas,due tothe commitment and the service that we have rendered for them.
The Chief Field Engineer andthe Engineer Brigade Commanderalso made a camp inspection in 9 Field engineer Regiment and field visit in SF (KLN) AOR during the COVID 19 pandemic situations.
