Focusing on the same initiative, the second consecutive Special Medical Clinic in SF (E) area of responsibility was conducted by Susarana Lanka Social Development Foundation of Malwatu Maha Viharaya, Kandy on 25 February 2017 at Vilayaya Central College – Aralaganvila.

One of the extra ordinary Dharma Preachers in Sri Lanka and the founder of Arya Nikethanaya at Godagama, Ven Mavarale Bhaddiya thero conducted a Buddhist sermon at the Security Force Headquarters (East) on 28 February 2017. The sermon was conducted on the invitation of Maj Gen Dharshana Hettiarrachchci RSP USP ndu psc, Comd SF (E) with a view to enhance the spiritual values among the troops deployed in the SFHQ (E) area of responsibility. Apart from Army tps, number of Principals, Teachers and Students from the schools in and around Welikanda area attended the Buddhist sermon.

233 Brigade celebrated its 26th anniversary on 27 and 28 Feb 2017 with a series of events giving priority to religious and community activities. The programme was commenced on 27th with a Blood Donation Campaign providing the opportunity for 80 Officers and Other Ranks to donate blood to save the lives of innocent patients in need. A Bodhi Pooja, an overnight Pirith Chanting and Alms Giving had been organized to bestow merits on fallen War Heroes and invoke blessings upon the soldiers.

1. Troops of 22 Division conducted a special Dengue Awareness Program at public places of Elahera, Bakamuna and Kinniya areas on 02 and 05 March 2017 in liaison with the MOH and Medical Officers of the respective areas.\r\n\r\n2. During this two day programme, troops and respective medical teams educated the community on how effectively Dengue can be eliminated by maintaining a hygienic atmosphere at work places as well as at residences.\r\n\r\n

The Defence Adviser of the High Commission of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka, Commodore S Aslam Parvez (TAS) nswc, afwc, psc, BN made a call on to the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, during a visit to the Eastern Province on 13 March 2017.\r\nThe visiting Bangladesh Defence Adviser and the Commander SF (E) focused on matters pertaining to military responsibilities during the existing peaceful environment in the Eastern Province.\r\nThe meeting culminated with exchange of mementoes as symbols of goodwill and relationship.\r\n

Normally this study is applied in an attempt to create more efficient organizations as well as in the field of military too. The central idea of the study of organizational behaviour is that a scientific approach can be applied to the management of workers. Organizational behaviour theories are used for human resource purposes to maximize the output from individual group members.

A Sil Observance Programme was launched by the Security Force Headquarters – (East) on Sunday 12 March 2017 to coincide with the Medin Full Moon Poya day with the participation of hundreds of Buddhist Devotees of the area.

The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc, visited 3 (V) MIC deployed in Girithale on 15 March 2017. On arrival at the 3 (V) MIC Headquarters, the Commander Security Forces (East) was welcomed by Commanding Officer, Major WMJK Karunaratne RSP Isc, and honoured with a Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities and thereafter all the officers of the battalion were introduced to the Comd SF (E) by CO.

The troops of 18 SLNG under command to 233 Bde donated 250 x packs of school accessories worth Rs.1500.00 each among 250 children of Panichchankerni Government Tamil Mixed School in Vakarai amidst a simple ceremony on 04 March 2017.

A herbal garden with over 200 varieties of indigenous medicinal plants and shrubs was ceremonially inaugurated at 0900 hrs on 17 March 2017 astride the approach road to SF HQ (E).\r\nOn the directions of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi RSP USP ndu psc , this program was implemented by the Officers and ORs with a view to safeguard indigenous herbal species and to provide herbal raw materials to the public.
