The newly constructed accommodation building (සයුරුඉම) of 241 Brigade at Akkaraipattu was declared open on 12 October 2018 to mark the 69th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army.
Major General LM Mudalige RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division graced the event as the chief guest on the invitation of Commander 241 Brigade Colonel W Chandarsiri RSP USP psc. GOC 24 DIV unveiled the plaque and marked the opening of the accommodation building.
The accommodation building was a long felt need and it brought to completion by 3 ESR troops with the assistance provided by all ranks of 241 Brigade.
