The National Youth Junior and Senior Novices Weightlifting Championship 2018, organized by the Polonnaruwa District Weightlifting Association in partnership with Welikanda Divisional Secretariat, and SFHQ (East) was declared open by the Chief Guest, the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, with the invitation of Divisional Secretary Welikanda, Mr. Harsha Bandara. The Championship was held at the gymnasium of Security Force Headquarters (East), Welikanda, on 19-20 May.
‘22 Division Challenge Trophy’, the volleyball tournament organized by 5th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery under the supervision of 222 Brigade successfully concluded at the 5 SLA grounds, Kanthale on (Wednesday) 06. General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony.
