Second Volunteer Signal Regiment (2(v)SLSC) with the sponsorship provided by philanthropists donated a large stock of stationeries and shoes for school children, healthy food and nutrients for male patients of chronic kidney disease, nutrients and essential baby care products for pregnant mothers on Saturday, 15 December 2018. The event took place at Welikanda Sooriyawewa Primary School with the guidance of Commander Security Force (East), Major General Aruna Jayasekera, on the request made by Retired Captain Jayantha Udulagama and the Commanding Officer 2 Volunteer Signal Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Bhathiya Jayaweera.
25 male patients suffering from chronic kidney disease and 25 pregnant women in Sooriyawewa area received healthy food, nutrients and essential baby care products during this programme while students of Sooriyawewa & Mahawelithenna Primary Schools were donated stationeries and shoes as incentives. Apart from that, a computer and story books for the library were also donated.
Mrs. Dilrukshi Gangodage (General Manager - CINEC Campus) & Mrs. Tharanga Gamge along with their family members and staff of the Departments of Finance, Projects, Operations & Stores of CINEC Campus extended their generosity for the project.
