Due to a request and mediation of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, Major General Lanka Amarapala, the Sri Lankan community in Italy, headed by Mr. Chaminda Ponnamperuma, sponsored the donation of a consignment of urgently-required advanced cancer treatment medicines, such as Oxaliplatin 100 mg, Cisplatin 50 mg, and Etoposide 100 mg to the Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, on Friday (17).

The closing ceremony of the Chemical, Biological, Radiology and Nuclear Response Basic Course was held on 10 February 2023 at Home of Sappers, Mattegoda with the guidance and as a result of the ‘Combat Readiness’ concept. The course was conducted from 17 January 2023 and continued until 10 February 2023, followed by 06 x Officers and 45 x ORs.

Major General Lanka Amarapala, the General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division, paid his first formal visit as the General Officer Commanding of the Engineer Division to the 6 Field Engineer Regiment, on Wednesday (08). Where he commanded 13 years ago as the Commanding Officer, the visiting General Officer Commanding was received on arrival by the commanding officer of the 6 Field Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Chamila Lahadasinghe.

As a concept of the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General MK Jayawardena RSP USP ndu appraised the Sapper Officers who performed extremely well during Army courses conducted in year 2022. The event was held on 04 January 2023 at the Regimental Headquarters - Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE). Two Sapper Officers, Major HAMP Kumara psc SLE and Captain AAPV Suraweera SLE was bestowed with cash gifts for their academic excellence during the courses.
