On 15 February 2026, a Warrant Officer of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was affected by a sudden house fire that caused extensive damage to his residence, leaving his family in a vulnerable situation.

The Quarterly Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was successfully held on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The 8 Field Engineer Regiment successfully organized the “මාතෘ අභිමන” Seva Vanitha Community Support and Development Programme in collaboration with Forever Skin Natural (Pvt) Ltd, as a Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch initiative on 8 October 2025 at Boo Oya, Vavuniya. This was conducted parallel to the 29th Anniversary of unit, under the leadership of Lt Col Asanka Hidallaarachchi, Commanding Officer of 8 SLE.
