The 12th President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Ramya Deepika Peiris assumed duties on 21 December 2020 at the Seva Vanitha Branch Office at the Regimental Headquarters - Panagoda amid religious blessings, warm greetings and best wishes.
As a gesture of goodwill and charity, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) organized a book donation programme on 10 December 2020 for 334 children of deceased war hearos, differently abled and serving soldiers who have 3 or more children in their families, with the view to facilitate their studies.
Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) organized a donation programme under the close supervision of Mrs Sagara Gunawardena, the president of SVB - SLE on 26 November 2020 with the support of the few donors. The donation included five Prosthetic Legs and a Bath Room set for six differently abled soldier of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The programme aims to motivate differently abled soldiers, improve their welfare facilities and make their life style into a comfortable one.
The newly renovated house donated to S/236700 Lance Corporal Samantha Sandun MSA at on 25 October 2020 at Galatha- Gampola. The house was constructed under the close supervision of Mrs Sagara Gunawardena, the president of Seva Vanitha Branch, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
Seva Vanitha Branch - Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) distributed 7 wheel chairs for differently abled soldiers. Following gentlemen have been sponsored for the wheel chairs and the sponsorship coordinated by Mrs Dilupa Warahena.
At present the Corps, together with the Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch has launched several projects to ensure the well being of the differently abled soldiers and families of war heroes who had sacrificed their lives and had gone missing during the conflict. Offering scholarships for the beneficiaries of dead, differently abled and serving soldiers, providing financial support to uplift their living standard by donating houses, bathroom fittings and provide medical assistance such as donating wheel chairs, artificial limbs and walking aids are some of the main activities conducts by the Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch.
After a few months of silence due to the deadly COVID 19 Pandemic over the country, Seva Vanitha Branch - Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB-SLE) organized a donation programme with few participants. A wheel chair donated to the father of Regimental Sargent Major, Warrant Officer I, DMUG Ranasinghe Banda who is severely ill. Amount of Rs 50, 000.00 medical aid donated to Lithula Laknada, the Son of Lance Corporal Haris Jayakantha ERSHP (Deceased) who is suffering from a cancer.
Sapper Samantha and his family received their dream house. The key was handed over after simple ceremony held on 29 January 2020 at Ritiketiya where the house was constructed.
The Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a visit to ward No 5 of the National Institute of Mental Health - Half Way Home at Mulleriyawa on 18 January 2020. The President of Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Mrs. Sagara Gunawardena led the visiting team.
