The world mother's day honouring motherhood and maternal bonds in the society. The Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) organized a donation programme for nearly 80 disabled and autism elders at the Sujatha Elder's Home, Kalutara on 9 May 2021, to celebrate the 2021 world mother's day.
During the occasion, Essential Foods and Sanitary wares handed over to the caretaker by the chairperson of SVB - SLE Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara together with the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer Major General Nihal Amarasekara.
The contributions and assistance made by the Chairperson, Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, Senior members of the SVB - SLE, Mrs Chethana Jayasinghe, Mrs Lenika Baalasooriya and Lieutenant Colonel Thissa Herath, Staff Officer 1 Veteran Affairs to make the event success.
The programme was conducted by adhering to health safety guidelines and social distancing practices to ensure the zero-spread of Corona virus within the society.
