Under the guidance of the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs Surangi Amarapala, were donated feeding bottles which was donated to SVB - SLE by Mrs Iromi Ranasinghe, to Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit of Army Hospital - Colombo on 06 August 2024.
According to the concept of the President of Seva Vanitha Branch, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, 1 Field Engineer Regiment took the initiative to organized an educational aids donation programme on Tuesday, 30th July 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers convened on Friday, 19th July 2024 at the Regimental Center, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, presided by Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President SLE Seva Vanitha Branch. This significant gathering was attended by the Executive Committee, Mrs. Lilanthi Dolage (Secretary), Mrs. Anupama Rathnayake (Treasurer), and Mrs. Subhashini Madurapperuma (Public Coordinating Officer) and spouses of Serving Officers of the Corps.
By extending the welfare activities further, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch and launched a donation programme for pregnant ladies, collaboration with 14 CBRNE Response Regiment, on 29th June 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
The Seva Vanitha Branch - Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers hailed and appreciated the services of the former President Mrs Shammi Jayawardena during a farewell reception at Regimental Centre Officers’ Mess on 28 July 2024 with the participation of Seva Vanitha Members.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Mrs. Anupama Fernando, spouse of the Commanding Officer - 4 (V) SLE, a donation program was conducted to support Corporal Jayasinghe SHS and his family, who face physical challenges due to non-battle reasons. During this initiative, a wheelchair was provided to Corporal Jayasinghe SHS, and his daughter, who excelled in the GCE Advanced Level Examination with three A's in the Arts stream, was presented with a laptop computer to aid her in pursuing higher education.
Monthly Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers got underway on 22 June 2024 at the Regimental Centre Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The meeting was presided by the President of Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs. Surangi Amarapala with participation of Executive members and other members.
Matters pertaining to various welfare activities that have yet to be implemented for the benefit of soldiers and their families were discussed during the meeting.
Mrs. Surangi Amarapala assumed office as the 17th President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch on 07 June 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers - Panagoda amidst religious blessings and simple ceremony.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers took the initiative to organize a special lunch, donation of essential needs by adding entertainment session for the residents of the 'Suwasetha' Child Development Centre in Kosgama on 22 January 2024.
The Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers arranged a financial donation for a severely cancer stricken spouse of Cpl Premathilaka SAM belong to the 10 Field Engineer Regiment on 28 November 2023 at the Regimental Centre Panagoda. The donation programme was arranged with the intention of the President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena and sponsored by a civilian philanthropist. The Centre Commandant Brig SPG Gamage RWP RSP USP and the Deputy Centre Commandant Col RM Subasingha RSP also participated to the event.
