The 26th Annual General Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held on 22 September 2023 at the Regimental Centre Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers extended its assistance to the needy in Embilipitiya in line with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. Under the guidance of the President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch Madame Shammi Jayawardena, dry rations and dinner was provided to the elderly at the Kusuma Elderly Home on 13 April 2023.
The ‘Abimansala -1 Wellness Resort, Anuradhapura’ is a haven of peace and security, built in a scenic location beside the Nuwara Wewa in Anuradhapura, the resort is equipped with facilities to provide these severely injured soldiers with lifelong care.
The Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB-SLE) hailed and appreciated the services of the former SVB - SLE President Mrs Mallika Wijayasundera during a farewell reception at Regimental Centre Officers’ Mess on 28 January 2023 with the participation of Seva Vanitha Members.
Mrs Shammi Jayawardena assumed office as the 16th President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch during a charming ceremony held at the Headquarters Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 12 January 2023. On her arrival at the Corps Headquarters the new chairperson was warmly welcomed by the senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch.
The 25th Annual General Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held on 12 November 2022 at the Conference Hall, Regimental Centre, Panagoda. The meeting was presided by the President Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs. Mallika Wijayasundara. Spouses of Serving Officers of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers including the Executive Committee of the Branch namely Mrs. Shamila Jayawardhana as Vice President, Mrs. Sirimalee Athapattu as Secretary, Mrs. Surangi Amarapala as Treasurer and Mrs.
As a gesture of goodwill and charity, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a Grade 5 Scholarship Examination Model paper set donation programme to the children of serving soldiers who have bravely fought to achieve the eternal peace to the motherland through the violent war which the country suffered for 3 consecutive decades.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Engineers donated school items to the children of Alagalla Vidyalaya in Vavuniya on 26 October 2022. The event included arranging of refreshments to the children and conducting an awareness programme on community health.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers launched a donation programme of donating stationaries and other essential items to 41 deserving female children of Dharmapala Bosath Child Development Center, Hingurakgoda on 31 October 2022. Apart from the main donation programme childrens’ were also served with a delicious lunch and were entertained with a music session.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Engineers launched a donation programme to the N/J Myliddy Kaleimagal Maha Vidyalaya - KKS was held on 30 October 2022 at the lecture hall of 10 Field Engineer Regiment
