On Sunday, November 3, 2024, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized a heartwarming book donation program at the SALEBA Convention Hall in Mattegoda. This event, launched under the direction of Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, Chairperson of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, aimed to provide educational support to the children of soldiers.
The monthly meeting (October) of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was successfully held on Friday, 25th October 2024, at the Regimental Centre of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The meeting was presided by Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, and brought together several key members, including Mrs. Anupama Rathnayake, who represented the Executive Committee as the Treasurer, as well as the spouses of serving Officers within the Corps.
Under the esteemed concept of Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, a significant welfare project was organized to support selected troops and civilian employees of the 7 Field Engineer Regiment. This initiative took place on 12th October 2024, at the unit premises, under the guidance of Major W M A B Warnasooriya USP psc SLE, the Commanding Officer.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers hosted its monthly meeting on Sunday, 29 th September 2024, at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The meeting was presided by Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, the President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch, and attended by Mrs. Anupama Rathnayake, the Treasurer, along with the spouses of serving officers.
By extending welfare activities further, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers launched an essential study materials donation programme in collaboration with the 16 Workshop Regiment SLE. This initiative aimed to support the children of the late Corporal Nandana AWDDN, who passed away in 2021 while participating in Peace Support Operations Training at IPSOTSL.
On Saturday, August 31, 2024, a touching ceremony was held at the Regimental Centre of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. The event, which was organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch, marked the donation of a laptop computer to the deserving daughter of Corporal Sirisoma GG, who passed away in 2013.
According to a concept of the President of Seva Vanitha Branch, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, 5 Field Engineer Regiment took the initiative to organize an event to enhance physical and mental health of 28 elderly mothers and fathers residing at the Thusitha Elders’ Home at Maththegoda on Wednesday, 28 August 2024.
Monthly Meeting (August) of Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers convened on Tuesday, 20th August 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, presided by Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, President SLE Seva Vanitha Branch. This significant gathering was attended by the Executive Committee, Mrs. Lilanthi Dolage (Secretary), Mrs. Anupama Rathnayake (Treasurer) and spouses of Serving Officers of the Corps.
According to the concept of the President of Seva Vanitha Branch, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, 9 Field Engineer Regiment took the initiative to organized an educational aids, essential food items and financial donation programme on Sunday, 11th August 2024 at the 9 Field Engineer Regiment.
Under the guidance of the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs Surangi Amarapala, were donated feeding bottles which was donated to SVB - SLE by Mrs Iromi Ranasinghe, to Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit of Army Hospital - Colombo on 06 August 2024.
