Mrs. Surangi Amarapala assumed office as the 17th President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch on 07 June 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers - Panagoda amidst religious blessings and simple ceremony.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers took the initiative to organize a special lunch, donation of essential needs by adding entertainment session for the residents of the 'Suwasetha' Child Development Centre in Kosgama on 22 January 2024.
The Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers arranged a financial donation for a severely cancer stricken spouse of Cpl Premathilaka SAM belong to the 10 Field Engineer Regiment on 28 November 2023 at the Regimental Centre Panagoda. The donation programme was arranged with the intention of the President Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena and sponsored by a civilian philanthropist. The Centre Commandant Brig SPG Gamage RWP RSP USP and the Deputy Centre Commandant Col RM Subasingha RSP also participated to the event.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers took the initiative for organizing of a Sappers’ Retro Musical Concert ‘Evergreens of the 70s’ at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre on 21 October 2023. This event stands as a testament to unwavering commitment of the Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers to the noble cause of enhancing the well-being of both abled and disabled soldiers and their families who have endured the profound challenges arise during the Humanitarian Operation.
The Seva Vanitha Branch – Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers organized programme for distribution of Grade 5 Scholarship Examination model papers sets for the children of soldiers at the Regimental Centre – Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 23 September 2023 presided by the Mrs. Shammi Jayawardena, the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch and sponsored by Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya a philanthropist.
The 26th Annual General Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held on 22 September 2023 at the Regimental Centre Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers extended its assistance to the needy in Embilipitiya in line with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. Under the guidance of the President of the SLE Seva Vanitha Branch Madame Shammi Jayawardena, dry rations and dinner was provided to the elderly at the Kusuma Elderly Home on 13 April 2023.
The ‘Abimansala -1 Wellness Resort, Anuradhapura’ is a haven of peace and security, built in a scenic location beside the Nuwara Wewa in Anuradhapura, the resort is equipped with facilities to provide these severely injured soldiers with lifelong care.

Mrs Shammi Jayawardena assumed office as the 16th President of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch during a charming ceremony held at the Headquarters Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 12 January 2023. On her arrival at the Corps Headquarters the new chairperson was warmly welcomed by the senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch.
