Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, the President of Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) coordinated a donation worth approximately Rs.600,000.00 to help mothers & mothers-to-be of Castle Street Hospital during these difficult times.
15 Thermometers, 41 Measuring cups, Hair dryer, Bed sheets, Towels, Clothing, Sanitary napkins were jointly sponsored by Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, Mrs Mihiri Herath, Mrs Chethana Jayasinghe, Mrs Lenika Balasooriya, Mrs Lakmali Subasinghe, Mrs Padmini Kalansooriya & Dr Anju Ekanayake.
A special donation arranged by Major General (Red) Sudantha Ranasinghe & Mrs Iromi Ranasinghe consisting of 50 Dignity kits and 25 Maternity kits which included all essential items needed by mothers and Newborn babies were also donated.
A minimum number of participants were present to comply with strict Covid-19 health guidelines.
On behalf of the hospital Dr Dedunu Dias, Deputy Director of Castle Street Hospital together with a few staff members accepted the donation with grateful thanks.
