9 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT WON THE INTER REGIMENT DRILL COMPETITION – 2023

The Awarding Ceremony of Inter Regiment Drill competition 2023 which signify the high standards of discipline and conduct among sappers of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, took Centre stage on 09 November 2023 at the Regimental Centre parade ground concurrently to the Anniversary celebration of the Corps. The Commander Security Forces Mullaitivu and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on the invitation of the Centre Commandant Brig SPG Gamage RWP RSP USP.

The climax of this event, surrounded in curiosity reached the agenda with award of trophies and certificates to Best Troop, Best Troop Commander and Best Drill Instructor who have exhibited their outstanding performances during the Drill Competition. 9 Field Engineer Regiment Drill Squad was selected as the Best Drill squad in the year of 2023 for their outstanding performances during the competition. Lt GWDK Withanage SLE from 8 Field Engineer Regiment was named as the Best Troop Commander and WO II Rajapakshe RMKK from 16 Workshop Regiment SLE was named as the Best Drill Instructor.
