Major General Lanka Amarapala assumed duties as the Commander of the Engineer Division on Wednesday, the 12th of October 2022, amidst religious rites and rituals and formal military ceremonials at the Engineer Division Headquarters, Home of Sappers, Mattegoda.

The certificate awarding ceremony got underway on 10 November 2022 at the conventional centre of Engineer Division camp premises at Mattegoda, for the course participants in successful completion of internationally recognized NVQ Level 3 & 4 courses on Construction Craftsmen (Masonry), Wood Craftsmen (Building) and Electrician conducted from 2018 to 2021. Total number of 104 participants from all regiments of Sri Lanka Army received certificates from the chief guest of the event, Colonel Commandant Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Commander Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, Major General WMGCSB Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu. The courses were conducted at Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering, Embilipitiya on the direction of Commander of the Army, under the direct supervision of Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission and Directorate of Training Sri Lanka Army.
