To coincide with the ongoing National Marine Resources Conservation Week and the International Costal Cleanup Day - 2022 (24 September), troops of the 11 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment launched beach cleaning programme covering the Kaththankudy coastal area, littered with discarded wrappers, polythene, plastic bottles, empty beer cans, empty liquor bottles, etc.
On vigorous information received from Military Intelligence, troops of 3 (V) Military Intelligence Corps in liaison with Infantry troops, Police and STF conducted several raids and captured a large consignment of illegal drugs during 12 August 2022 to 20 September 2022.
During these raids, the troops captured a large number of illegal drugs including Ice drugs, Heroin, Illicit Liquor and Cannabis as indicated.
As per the direction given by the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Wasantha Hewage, the Panichchankerny to Sallathive minor road was reconstructed by the troops of the 6th Battalion of Gajaba Regiment on 18th September 2022.
As per the direction given by the Commander Security Forces – East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardane and the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama, the troops of 241 Infantry Brigade and the 242 Infantry Brigade organized a “Mobile Medical and Eye Care Campaign” on 18 September 2022.
Colonel Anuruddha Solangaarachchi assumed duties as the new Commander of the 242 Infantry Brigade, amid religious blessings at the Headquarters in Komari - Ampara on Wednesday (14).
The newly-appointed Commander of the 242 Infantry Brigade of the 24 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honored in a Guard Turnout. Afterwards Colonel Anuruddha Solangaarachchi signed a formal document at the auspicious minute and symbolized the official acceptance of new appointment.
The troops of 8 Sri Lanka National Guard under the 242 Infantry Brigade in collaboration with the Thirukkovil Base Hospital staff organized a Medical treatment programme at the Forum to Assist children's Education Centre Umri, Thirukkovil on 30 August 2022.
Troops of 16 Sri Lanka National Guard organized the programme of distribution of Water Tanks to low income families who are living in Piyasaragama, Maha Oya area on 25 August 2022. Each Water Tank worth is Rs.11000.00 and the total value of the donation was Rs: 44000.00.

Headquarters of Forward Maintenance Area (East) started a series of refresher courses for enhance the knowledge of Officers serving at Division, Brigade, Training Schools and Battalions under the Security Force Headquarters (East) at 3 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Minneriya.
A Dansela programme was organized by 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment for the devotees of ‘Paada Yathra’ at the evening of 27 July 2022 at Okanda Dewalaya premises under the patronage of Mr. Gamunu Perera owner of the Bayvista Hotel in Arugambay. A total of 1500 devotees were offered dinner and the event was organized with the direction of General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division, Major General SB Amunugama RWP RSP ndu and the Commander 242 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier BGS Fernando USP psc Hdmc. Commanding Officer of 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel MAW Munasinghe SLSR and troops of 242 Infantry Brigade, 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment also attended to the event.
