NEW HOUSE FOR A DISABLED WOMAN

In line with the series of community-oriented welfare programmes organized by Security Force (East), the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Colonel Wasantha Hewage laid the foundation stone for construction of a new house for a disabled woman in Muthuwella, Welikanda during a brief ceremony organized on Friday (16).

4 GW TROOPS ORGANIZE NATIONAL SCHOOL CRICKET CARNVAL

4th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch deployed under 231 Infantry Brigade of 23 Infantry Division under command to Security Force Headquarters (East) organized a Cricket Carnival among National Schools at Sitty Vinayagar Cricket Ground Sittandy from 10 Apr 21 to 11 Apr 21.

Cricket teams representing the following National Schools of Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Polonnaruwa districts participated in the tournament:

OPENING OF RELICS MANSION - MAILANKARACHCHI SRI MAHINDARAAMA TEMPLE

The opening ceremony of newly constructed Relics Mansion of Mailankarachchi Sri Mahindaraama Temple got underway on 27 and 28 March with the supervision of the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Colonel RWK Hewage RWP RSP and the Commanding Officer of 6th Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment at the Temple premises. Concurrently, an All-night Pirith Chanting with the offering of ‘Heel Dana’ was held with the auspices of Mr. KP Thisera in Wadduwa who donated Rs. 1.6 million for this respectable event.

3(V) SLACAL ORGANIZES A DONATION OF STATIONERY TO UNDERPRIVILEGED STUDENTS

3rd (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock in collaboration with the 95th Batch of Agriculture Faculty, University of Peradeniya donated school items for underprivileged students of Malinda Primary School, Madurangala Primary School and Monarathanna Primary School in Welikanda Educational Division. The programme was carried out on 27 March 2021.

DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL EQUIPMENT FOR NEEDY STUDENTS IN TRINCOMALEE

Troops of 5(V) Sri Lanka Artillery of 222 Brigade under 22 Division, conducted a donation programme of school accessories to 50 selected students in Peramaduwa Primary School on Monday (22). This programme was organized by the troops of 5(V) SLA under the instructions of General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General MKS Silva RWP RSP ndu and under the supervision of Commander 222 Infantry Brigade, Colonel MGW Wimalasena RSP
