7 Field Engineer Regiment of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers celebrated its 30th anniversary on Saturday 09 December 2023 at the Batu Oya camp premises followed by the series of events. The programme commenced with the Kovil Puja which held on 02nd December 2023 and the Inter Squadron Cricket Tournament was conducted on 07 and 08 December 2023 followed by a Bodhi Puja on the evening of 08 December 2023.

In response to a compelling request from the Airport and Aviation Service of Sri Lanka, the Commander of the Army initiated a remarkable training endeavor. Under the direct and vigilant guidance of the esteemed Chief Field Engineer, the dynamic alliance between the Army Engineer Division and the proficient 14 CBRNE Response Regiment unfolded an extensive series of training sessions. The primary objective of these sessions was to fortify the knowledge and skills of trainers engaged in the Aviation Security Course. In response to a request from the Disaster Management Center, an extraordinary mission was initiated under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment and the supervision of the CFE and Commander Engineer Division. The Disaster Response Squadron of 14 CBRNE Response Regiment, an elite unit, came forward to assist the Irrigation Department in a monumental task – the removal of water hyacinth from the Boralesgamuwa Tank.

The CBRN first responders’ basic course 02/2023 of Sri Lanka Navy visited Sri Lanka Army CBRNE Response Regiment in order to gain perception of role, tasks and responsibilities of Sri Lanka Army CBRNE Response Regiment as a leading first responder of CBRNe threats in the land. The event unfolded presentations, CBRNE equipment display and educational discussion on 05 October 2023 at home of sappers Mattegoda. Under the guidance of Chief Field Engineer and Commander Engineer Division and supervision of the Commanding Officer of 14 CBRNE Response Regiment, the session was conducted related to the responsibilities and capabilities of Army CBRNE Response Regiment to Sri Lanka Navy.

The instructor appreciation programme was held on 8th October 2023 at the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering for the second consecutive year. The aim of this programme was to recognize and appreciate instructors of SLSME whilst encouraging them in their dedication and commitment as instructors. Troops of 11 Field Engineer Regiment build a new house in Thavasikulam, Kodikamam area under the direction of Security Force Jaffna, 52 Infantry division and 523 infantry brigade. The house was handed over to the deserving widow, Mrs. S. Sugendrani a mother of three children on 14th October 2023.
