Search and Rescue (SAR) Teams of 12 Field Engineer Regiment are presently deployed at Pelawatta, Walallawita and Baduraliya areas effected by heavy rain. Troops assisted effected civilians in the area and facilitated their movements for safe sheltering.
The movement has been restricted in Pelawatta - Walallawita road and Pelawatta - Baduraliya road due to adverse weather prevails in the AOR. Students and teachers attending GCE O/L examination at school in Pelawatta area have been given assistance to reach examination centres and later facilitated them return back homes safely after attending the examination. 03 x 35 of Sapper troops presently involving in Disaster Relief Operations (DRO) in the area under the instruction of GOC 61 Infantry Division and the close supervision of the Commander 612 Infantry Brigade.
