  • NEW DIRECTOR OF VETERAN AFFAIRS ASSUMES OFFICE

    Brigadier Mangala Mayadunna of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) assumed office as the 12th Director of Veteran Affairs on 30 September 2021 at his office in the Army Headquarters at Sri Jayawardenepura.

  • DIFFERENTLY ABLED WAR HERO RECEIVED A COMMODE SET FROM THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH - SRI LANKA ENGINEERS

    Differently abled soldier, Corporal (Retd) Mithrapala KM of 5 SLE received a Commode set from the Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE). The soldier was disabled due to a mine blast in the operational area at Sarasalai in year 2000 and he lost his right leg.

  • HUMANITARIAN DEMINING BASIC COURSE – 37 WAS COMMENCED

    As per the instructions and guidelines of the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army, Maj Gen AN Amarasekara USP ndu and supervisions of Commander field Engr Bde, Brig DP Jayasinghe RSP, 37th Humanitarian Demining Basic course was commenced on 21 Sep 2021 and it has been scheduled to conduct within 41 working days.

  • TROOPS OF 12 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT TAKE ON MOBILE VACCINATION DRIVE

    Troops of 12 Field Engineer Regiment conducted mobile vaccination drive along with the Army medical troops to meet the vaccination requirement of elderly people above 60 years of age, sick, handicapped and feeble ones on 22,24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 in Walallawita and Palindanuwara and Beruwala Divisional Secretariat areas. The programme was launched on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff , Commander of the Army and Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), and the instructions of Commander Security Forces (West) Maj Gen DGS Senerath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division Maj Gen DG Hewage RSP.

  • VISIT OF THE BRIGADE COMMANDER OF GENERAL ENGINEERING BRIGADE TO THE ONGOING PROJECTS LOCATIONS IN SOTHERN PROVINCE

    General Engineering Brigade of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Engineers was established in order to Plan, coordinate and execute general construction, renovation projects and Field Engineer tasks and further, to fulfill and conduct the engineering tasks related to school development projects and vertical constructions under the guidance of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Mphil, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, which are being instructed by His excellency the President as per the concept of “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor”.

  • VISIT OF THE BRIGADE COMMANDER OF GENERAL ENGINEERING BRIGADE TO THE ONGOING PROJECTS LOCATIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTH WESTERN PROVINCES

    The Brigade Commander of General Engineering Brigade, Brigadier Asanga Perera psc Hdmc along with the Colonel Project Lieutenant Colonel Pradeep Siriwardena psc SLE and GSO II (Constr) Major Thilanka Wijayasiriwardana SLE visited the project locations of Royal College Polonnaruwa, Rajarata Vidyalaya Hingurakgoda, Anuradhapura Central College, Murungan College Mannar, Umandawa Maha Vihara Monastery and RHQ-SLNG Wehera on 17 August 2021 to 20 August 2021 in order to inspect the progress of the above mentioned construction projects. Commanding Officers of 1 SLE, 5 SLE and 12(V) CES attended for the visit.

    Mrs Shiromi Amarasekara, the President of Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) coordinated a donation worth approximately Rs.600,000.00 to help mothers & mothers-to-be of Castle Street Hospital during these difficult times.

  • VACCINATION PROGRAMME FOR THE 2ND DOSE OF ASTRAZENECA SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTS AT BODHI RAJARAMAYA - PANAGODA

    On the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, with the supervision of Major General D G S Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force (West), a vaccination project has been coordinated and successfully conducted by Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on 01 and 02 August 2021 at Bodhi Rajaramaya, Panagoda.
