Captain AAPV Suraweera SLE became the first in order of merit in the Counterinsurgency and Jungle Warfare course No 31 held at Army Training School - Maduruoya. 27 student officers including 2 Pakistan officers, 2 Bangladesh officers, a Nepal officer, an officer from Sri Lanka Navy and Officers of more than 10 Regiments were participated in the course.
The formal closing ceremony on 05 December 2022 at the ATS - Maduruoya, attended by the Commandant, Army Training School, Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc as the Chief Guest saw all 27 Course attendees receive certificates of proficiency at the end of the occasion. The course began on 29 August 2022.
The Course curriculum focused on Foundation module for insurgency, Doctrine for Operations, Insurgency and terrorism, internal security, Counterinsurgency operations and jungle warfare operations and practical assignments.
