It was a quick movement with rapid action plan by 5 Field Engineer Regiment (SLE) under command to 142 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division to attend dousing a sudden fire that had broken out in the Bathi Pooja Incense Manufacturing Company and a Garment Factory at Mahalwarawa area of Pannipitiya belonging to Section 08 AOR (GR 095819) on 12 February 2024.

The newly appointed GOC was warmly received by the Commanding Officer of 16 Workshop Regiment, extending a gracious welcome on behalf of all Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment.
