On 19th October 2025, the Sri Lanka Military Academy proudly hosted student officers of the Senior Command Course 15, Junior Command Course 34 and Junior Staff Course 30 accompanied by the Chief Instructor and the staff (DS) of the Army War College, Buttala. The visit was organized with the objective of enhancing their knowledge and practical understanding of the various types of DRILLS practiced across the Army, which is a key component of their training curriculum at the AWC.
Upon their arrival, the delegation was warmly received by the Chief Instructor of the Military Training Wing, Colonel PADSW Ponnamperuma USP psc, together with the staff of the SLMA. The programme commenced with detailed theoretical sessions, followed by practical demonstrations of a range of ceremonial drills such as Street Lining, Guard Turnout, Guard of Honour, Guard Mounting and Dismounting, Staff Parade, and Military Funeral Drills. These captivating demonstrations were skilfully conducted by the Drill Instructors and students of the ongoing Drill Instructor Course 134.
The visit provided the participants with a truly memorable and enriching learning experience for their professionalism, awareness on military traditions and discipline.
