INTER-COMPANY SPORTS MEET 2025

The Inter-Company Sports Meet, conducted annually to foster sportsmanship, leadership. and organizational skills, was held on the 12th and 13th of August 2025 at the Polo Ground. The Inauguration Ceremony took place on the 12th of August, with the Commandant, Major General M J R S Medagoda RSP USP ndc psc IG, attending as the Chief Guest. Following the Opening declaration, a series of heated and competitive events unfolded including the Invited School Girls' and Boys' Relays and Inter Wing Relay culminating in the Closing Ceremony on the 13th of August.

The Inter-Company Sports Meet was marked by intense enthusiasm in both individual and team events. Randeniwala Company emerged victorious, earning the title of Champion Company. Balana Company and Vijithapura Company secured the positions of First Runner-up and Second Runner-up, respectively.

Adding a memorable highlight to the event, L/O/Cdt AMH Dewmini was recognized as the Best Female Athlete of the Inter-Company Sports Meet 2025 and Cdt/L/Cpl MT Madushanka was honoured as the Best Male Athlete.

Additionally, several new records were set by O/Cats during the competition: L/O/Cdt N A Y Sewwandi in High Jump with the height of 1.47m, L/O/Cdt G H H D Ganegoda in female Shot Put with a distance of 8.67m, O/Cdt P U K Imesh in Triple Jump men with a distance of 13.79m, O/Cdt Y Janushuar in 800m men with the time of 2.08.04, L/O/Cdt A M H Dewmini in 100m female with the time of 12.60 and in 200m female with the time of 26.44. Further, this ceremony was decorated with a taekwondo display by officer cadets and a band display performed by SLSR brass band.

The Inter-Company Sports Meet 2025 concluded with a legacy of cherished memories for the Academy.
