INTER COMPANY COMBAT FIRING MEET 2024

The Inter Company Combat Firing Meet 2024 was held at the Field Firing Range (FFR) of Fox Hill from October 3 to October 5, 2024. Officer Cadets from Intakes 93, 93B, SC 21, and SC 22 participated in the competition representing their four Companies for the Champion Company Trophy.

It was in fact a challenging competition that included four stages, crossing obstacles, initial and final kit inspection, firing targets and best shot competition. The Certificate Award Ceremony of the Inter Company Firing Meet was graced by the Deputy Commandant, Brigadier PSJD Samarasekara RSP USP ndc psc, as the Chief Guest. During the presentation, the 1st Section of Balana Company emerged as the top performers among the twelve sections, earning the Best Section award. Senior Pl/U/O DRK Jayakodi of Balana Company from Intake 93B was recognized as the Best Section Commander. The Best Shot (Male) of the competition was Cdt/L/Cpl LAWMMD Atapattu from Intake 93B, while L/O/Cdt KDD Weerathunga from the same Intake was named the Best Shot (Female). Four Officer Cadets achieved scores exceeding 70%, which qualified them to receive the Commandants' Honours. Gannoruwa Company was declared the Champion of the Inter-Company Combat Firing Meet 2024, making Balana Company and Vijithapura Company in Runner-up and Second Runner-up positions.

On October 5, 2024, the Inter Company Firing Meet concluded with a Firing Display by the Best Section on Paddock hill for the first time in the history, followed by a Prize Awarding Ceremony, which was attended by the Deputy Commandant, all Wing Heads, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and Officer Cadets of the Military Academy.
