THE 3RD BOM MEETING AT THE SLMA

Board of Management (BOM) meetings are periodically held at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) with the involvement of key stakeholders of the Sri Lanka Army and the SLMA, in order to review the training and administrative matters related to the SLMA, in accomplishing its desired goals.

On 6th September 2024, a Board of Management (BOM) meeting chaired by the Chief of Staff, Maj Gen SRB Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc was held at the SLMA and the event was attended by the Director General-General Staff, Maj Gen SAND Edirisinghe RWP RSP Hdmc psc, Director General Budget & Finance Management, Maj Gen AMKGPSK Abeysinghe, Commandant of the SLMA, Maj Gen ULJS Perera RSP USP psc, Director Research Concept and Doctrine, Brig TN Majeed RSP USP ndc Isc, Director Personal Administration, Brig HTW Vidyananda RWP RSP USP, CO OCW & the Secretary of the BOM, Col AMDB Adhikari RWP RSP psc , Col Coord of COS Office, Col EGC Gunasena RWP RSP psc, Col Training, Col MTI Gunawardhana RSP psc and other senior staff officers of the SLMA.

Upon the Chief of Staff's arrival at the Academy, a Guard Turnout was presented and a floral tribute was offered to the War Memorial in honour of the fallen warriors. Then, Chief of Staff planted an “Ironwood” sapling beside the Headquarters Complex. Afterwards a group photograph was taken with all BOM members and the key appointment holders of the Military Academy.

Following this, the BOM meeting commenced and the matters concerning general, administrative and logistical disciplines were taken into thorough discussion to identify the most effective and feasible solutions to address the challenges. The BOM members then gathered for an informal interaction with the Academy officers, followed by a feast, marking the successful conclusion of another fruitful BOM meeting at the SLMA.
