Sri Lanka Military Academy always imparts knowledge on the importance of environmental protection and preservation responsibilities within its trainee officer cadets during their course of training at Diyatalawa by engaging them with voluntary social activities such as cleaning campaigns, tree plantation programmes etc.
Upholding the theme of "Keep It Clean, Keep It Green", a batch of fourty two officer cadets including seven foreign officer cadets training currently at the SLMA participated in a cleaning campaign on 8th September 2024 at the Diyatalawa Railway Station, a fine destination of many local and foreign tourists due to its natural scenic beauty and salubrious climate. The programme will be continued as a social service by the SLMA, to foster a sense of youth’s engagement and to adopt more sustainable practices within the trainee officer cadets at SLMA.
