On 10 August 2024, Mr. Kalana Chandimal Wakista, a well-known personality and trainer in the field of bookbinding, preservation, and conservation, made a generous contribution to the Major Indika Walisundara Memorial Library by donating forty-six publications on a wide range of subjects, including Buddhism, English Language Learning, Social Sciences, Biographies, Mass Media, and Fiction. This valuable collection will enrich the library's resources and broaden the horizons of Officer Cadets, Officer Instructors, and all other library users.
In recognition of his kindness and valuable contribution, Mr. Kalana Wakista was presented with a token of appreciation and a certificate by the Commandant, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP psc. The event, held at the library, was graced by the Deputy Commandant, Director Academics, and a cross-section of officers from the SLMA. The significant occasion concluded with an intimate interaction among the participants, followed by refreshments.
