STUDY TOUR OF INTAKE 92A, 93B AND SC 21

The annual Study Tour organized for trainee Officer Cadets at the SLMA to the former operational areas, regiments, Security Forces Headquarters, training academies of sister services intends to provide them with a rare opportunity to witness the function service of the establishments located in those areas and to broaden the trainees’ knowledge through such field visits.

224 Officer Cadets of Intake 92A, 93B and SC 21 including 10 Foreign Officer Cadets joined in the study tour from 27 to 31 May 2024. On 27 May 2024, Officer Cadets visited the Regimental Centre of MIR, Dambulla and then the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee. In the second day of their study tour (28 May), they paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy (AFA) at China Bay and then to the 4 SLAC, Trincomalee. On 29 May 2024, they reached to 59 Infantry Division, Mullaitivu and then they were able to see LTTE Submarine Yard and War Monument located in Mullaitivu. On 30 May 2024, they visited to Security Forces Headquarters -Jaffna and also to the prominent destinations of their excursion; Jaffna Fort, General Denzil Kobbekuduwa War Memorial, CIMIC park- 51 Infantry Division, Jaffna Public Library and Dambakolapatuna. Finally, the Officer Cadets reached their last destinations of the study tour; EPS- Monument and to the RHQ GR located in Saliyapura on 31 May 2024.

During all these visits the Officer Cadets expressed their gratitude by presenting tokens of appreciation to all senior officers, officers and NCOs of respective establishments for making their study tour a great success.
